Instron Testing

Hey folks,

I finally went over to speak to Dr. Dickrell. He told us to stop by Friday after lunch. So we'll be meeting at Mike's office around 2:45-2:50ish, and leaving for the lab at 3:00pm. Dr. Dickrell said the testing shouldn't last much more than half an hour. If any members want to come check it out, learn to use an Instron, see how strong the Hysol is, by all means come along. If you can, please bring a camera. I want to take pictures of the test, but I feel my camera phone won't cut it.

For future reference, he said the best days for Instron testing are Mondays or Fridays. There's Mechanics of Materials lab all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

I hope to see you there,
Eddie

Update, Sean spoke to Dr. Dickrell today, it turned out he'll be out Friday. I gotta stop by the lab tomorrow and coordinate a time when Jennifer Vail is clear to help us use the machine instead.

I'm in for sure, and I may be able to procure a camera for the event.

So it turns out today is the parade. So once gain, the testing has been postponed, this time to Monday... for real!

1:55 PM would be ideal. Please have your crew show up on time and be ready to rock...

So yeah, the testing will take place Monday, Oct 19th, during 7th, and potentially 8th period although Dr. Dickrell said it really shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. So if you'd like to go with us, just clear your schedule for at the very least 1:55-2:45. If you can, start meeting up at the shop at about 1:40. I have a class that ends right at that time, so I guess I'll bike up to the shop right around 1:50 or so, and then we'll walk down to Dr. Dickrell's lab in MAE-B at 1:55.

If you're late, just head over to the IML/MoM lab, I believe the number is NSC 316, although Sean can correct me on that one.

Correction on the location:

Good catch, 316 NSC at the Instron at 1:55 PM, Monday.
